HITS OF 1990 : I honestly cannot remember how this CD came to be here. Consisting of just ten tracks of mostly obscure materials except for the fairly well known ' Step By Step' by New Kids On The Blocks and 'Oh Girl' by Paul Young. The reminding tracks are 'Cherry Pie' by Warrant, 'Peace In Our Time' by Eddie Money, ' Here And Now' by Luther Vandross' and 'Knockin' Boots' by Candyman. The remaining songs are as unforgettable as they come. DOP : 4th April 2008.
CHART TOPPERS 5 : This one flared even worst. Out of 15 tracks I am not familiar with even one of them. I suspect that I either got this as a free disc or as a minor prize from one of the company's annual dinner that I've attended. No point in naming the songs here. DOP : Unknown.
TOP OF THE 80'S. VOLUME 1 : This I bought with my hard earned cash. Consisting of tons of hits of the day including Kenny Loggins' smash 'Footloose', and Cyndi Lauper's equally big 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' and Martika's 'I Feel The Earth Moved'. However most of the songs that matter are songs that I've already have. The reason I bought this was Eddie Murphy's once hard to find ' Party All The Time', a song that I absolute love and Deniece Williams' 'Let's Do It For The Boys' which originally appeared in the soundtrack 'Footloose" and I don't have. The rest of the tracks may be hits in their time but I don't really care much for them. DOP : 2nd July 2003.
MONSTER DANCE HITS : THE ULTIMATE DANCE COLLECTION EVER : Another CD that totally have me lost. One look at the cover, you could be forgiven for thinking it's one of those a dime a dozen cheap compilation CD. But look closer and you'll find quite a lot to enjoy. Disc 1 have the novelty track American Idol reject William Hung's 'She Bang', 'Tarzan Boy ( 199 Remix )', 'D.I.S.C.O.'. 'Kung Fu Fighting' by Bus Stop Feat. Carl Douglas, 'Mickey' by Toni Basil as well as Bananarama's 'Love In The First Degree'. Herbie Hancock's 'Rockit' are here too. Disc 2 have 'Macarena ( Bayside Boys Remix )' by Los Del Rio, 'Mambo No. 5' ( A Little Bit Of...) by Lou Bega, 'Asereji ( Spanglish Version ) which is actually Las Ketchup in another language. There are also 'Calcutta' by Dr. Bombay, and even a version of Abba's 'Mamma Mia ( Mamma Maryis Radio Mix )'. So I would say this is a real value for money. DOP : 11th September 2007.
POPCORN : 38 TRACKS THAT STILL SNAP, POP AND CRACK YOU UP ! : This is another double CD with a few identical tracks from the Monster Dance Hits CD. Still the track listings are quite impressive. Disc 1 offered Paul Lekakis's 'Boom Boom ( Let's Go Back To My Room )', Bananarama's Venus', Rick Astley's Never Gonna Let You Go', Samantha Fox's sexy 'Touch Me ( I Want Your Body )' and even Ace Of Base's 'The Sign'. Disc 2 gives us Baha Men's 'Who Let The Dogs Out', Ottawan's 'D.I.S.C.O' as well as M.C. Hammer's 'U Can't Touch This', Shampoo's 'Trouble', Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby' and Musical Youth's 'Pass The Dutchie' a song I've not heard since a long time. Another value for money disc. DOP : 2nd February 2006.

The CD, Top of the 80s Volume 1, looks interesting. I remember Kenny Loggins's "Footloose" and Cyndi Lauper's"Girls Just Want To HAve Fun". These were 2 songs that I heard on radio frequently during the 80s.
ReplyDeleteWell, "Footloose" and 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' were big hits in the eighties..You just couldn't escape hearing them if you were anywhere near a radio.....
