THE VERY BEST OF THE FORTANA YEARS : MANFRED MANN :
Manfred Mann was a British beat, rhythm and blues band from the 1960's named after their keyboard player, Manfred Mann who later formed the 1970's group Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Though their repertoires were a mixture of self and outside composed songs, they were primarily known as the foremost interpreter of Bob Dylan's songs of which they did three which were big hits namely 'The Mighty Quinn','Just Like A Woman' and 'If You Gotta Go, Go Now'. The latter was not included in the two CDs. The Manfred Mann's Earth Band did another version of 'The Mighty Quinn' which totally blew me away when I first heard it. While the earlier version was a strictly pop version within the 3 minutes pop restrain, the later was a 6 minutes long rock version opus. DOP : 21st February 2008.

MANFRED MANN A's B's & EP's : My only recollection of Manfred Mann was an SP of their 1969 hits 'Fox On The Run' There wasn't anything else until these two CDs .Listening to them now, they sound slightly dated but still there are some priceless pop classics to found in these two CDs. I particularly like 'Pretty Flamingo' and 'Come Tomorrow' DOP : 20th March 2007.
