HERMAN'S HERMITS : . Now there's a name that doesn't ring many bells nowadays but in the 1960s, and especially in the US, they were almost as popular as The Beatles. I bought this CD purely for the song 'I'll Never Dance Again' and for sentimental reasons. My brother had this album and it was my first introduction to the band. Highlights includes 'Heartbeat', 'Travelling Light', which was the first time I heard the song before I heard the Cliff Richard's version and their unique rendition of 'The End Of The World', the old Skeeter Davis standard DOP : 9th March 2007.
ORIGINAL HITS : HERMAN'S HERMITS :
This was the first Herman's Hermits' CD that I've bought and it'll be more than sufficient for the casual fans. Within this CD, you'll find all their big hits that includes 'Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter', their first hit 'I'm Into Something Good', 'Wonderful World','There's A Kind Of Hush' and more. It was never cool to like Herman's Hermits. They relates more to the ladies than to the guys. Still, under the able management of their producer, Mickie Most, they managed to recruit many top notched musicians of the day to play on their records. Most notably Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, later of Led Zeppelin fame. There were not the most important band in the world and they don't pretend to be. Nevertheless, they were pretty entertaining I still play their music every now and then. DOP : 18th January 1996.

HERMAN'S HERMITS : I'M INTO SOMETHING GOOD :
The last "Herman's Hermits" CD that I bought was a novelty Cd. A novelty Cd from a novelty band. How irony can that be. Led by Barry Whitwam, their former drummer, who doesn't even sing and a bunch of unknowns. Anyway I bought this at a discount price. Played it once and then place it back on the shelf. I preferred Peter Noone's version any day. Thank you. DOP : 4th April 2008.
