THE BEACH BOYS : PET SOUNDS : I got the 'Pet Sound' CD due purely to its reputation in rock history. Released in 1966. it contained such Beach Boys' classics as 'God Only Knows', 'Sloop John B' and 'Wouldn't It Be Nice'
and is usually included in any magazines' greatest albums
lists. Although hailed as a classic now, it sold poorly when it was
first released in 1966. Due to its complex musical arrangements, many of
the songs here didn't made it into their concert repertoire. The buying
public didn't get it during that time too and unfortunately neither did
I and I am talking about now. Maybe in the near future, I will get
their "Good Vibrations" album to get a feel of the magic of The Beach Boys. Until then I'll reserved my judgement of them. DOP : 3rd June 2012.

THE BEACH BOYS : SUMMER DREAMS : 28 CLASSIC TRACKS : I've always preferred The Beach Boys in small doses. However big their albums were, it doesn't do anything for me. It sounded too much alike for me to go thought in one sitting. I got the CD 'Summer Dreams' just for the hits and it work just fine for me. With songs like ' I Get Around‘, 'Surfin' USA', 'Fun, Fun, Fun' and 'Sloop John B', how could anything go wrong and it didn't. Considered widely as a genius, the troubled Brian Wilson, together with brothers, Carl and Dennis, a cousin, Al Jardine and a friend, Mike Love made up The Beach Boys. They were the closest rival to The Beatles in the 1960's. Carlifonia Rock was practically invented by them. Brian Wilson's songs celebrated an idealized California childhood-like surfing, driving and dating. DOP : 20th December 1995.
