HERE'S THE ANSWER : Music have been said to be a universal language and nothing holds more truth than this album. Released in 1961, this album is chokeful of classics. Backed by musicians who were artists in their own right. The songs 'He'll Have To Go', 'Tell Laura I Love Her', 'Please Help Me I'll Falling' and 'My Last Date ( With You)' with lyrics penned by Miss Davis herself., need no introduction and were regular staples at any karaoke joints.
I inherited this album from my father who doesn't even speak or understand a word of English. I don't know where or how he got it but somehow he managed to get an EP of four songs from this album. The songs worked its magic on him and he went for the whole album.

The original album consisted of 10 tracks with Skeeter answering each of the songs with her own version. The remastered CD had an additional four songs that somewhat disrupt the flow and concept of the original album so I don't really care much for them. I usually stopped the CD after reaching the end of the original tracks. DOP : 5th February 1997.
This is a great album of Skeeter Davis.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite songs are "He'll have to go/He'll have to stay" and "Please help me, I'm falling/(I can't help you) I'm falling too"
