ARTISTS FOR CHILDREN

Lest you think that I am all serious when it comes to music, I like children's songs too. Especially when they are being delivered by top notched artists.

FOR OUR CHILDREN TO BENEFIT THE PEDIATRIC AIDS FOUNDATION  : This 19 tracks CD is a pure joy for the ear. It sure brings out the kid in me and you too if you care to listen. The artists' here read like a Who's who in the music world. My personal favorites are Bob Dylan's version of 'This Old Man', Paul McCartney's 'Mary Had A Little Lamb', Stephen Bishop's 'The Ballad Of Davy Crokett' and James Taylor's 'Getting To Know You'. The goodies are too many to name. You'll probably love Bette Midler's 'Blueberry Pie', Pat Benatar's 'Tell Me Why' and Debbie Gibson's short but sweet 'A Medley Of Rhymes' too. DOP :18th November 1991.

FOR OUR CHILDREN TOO : CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF ELIZABETH GLASER :  I got this Volume 2 on discount. Looking at the titles seems promising but somehow the artists' delivery this time lack conviction. Definitely not as enjoyable as the first volume. Songs includes Celine Dion's 'Bahms' Lullaby', Luther Vandross's 'If I Have A Hammer'. Seal's 'Puff The Magic Dragon and probably the most enjoyable tune here, James Taylor and Carly Simon's 'Mocking Bird'. Overall, this CD works better than a sleeping pill. When I place it on the player during bedtime, I dozed off before the third track.  DOP : 8th May 2003.

SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS' GREATEST HITS : I got this CD when it first came out. But unfortunately it was stolen together with a numbers of other CDs when i forgot to lock my car's door. I bought this again years later in a fleas market. Songs here are as the title suggested from the cartoons show on TV. ‘The Tra La La Song', 'Sugar, Sugar', 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You', 'Josie And The Pussycats', etc. Nothing special. I bought this for the memories though it stirred nothing for me 'cos it was redone by newer artists and not original like in the TV shows. DOP : 20th February 2011.

DISNEY'S GREATEST HITS : I got this at a reasonable price. No single or double CD can contained all the hits that Disney have produced so far. It'll need a box set of at least 5 or 6 CDs. Anyway, since this is going cheap, it cause me no harm in purchasing it for my collection. I like 'You'll Be In My Heart' 'cos the Phil Collins Greatest Hits CD that I have just missed this song. Then there's 'The Bare Necessities', 'Heigh-Ho', 'Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo', 'A Whole New World' and 'Beauty And The Beast'. How can you go wrong ? At RM 19.90 I guess I can live with what's here and what's missing till the next volume arrived. DOP : Unknown.

GOAL! 20 WINNING HITS : I got this on discount too. There are a few songs that I like here. Queen's 'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are The Champion'. Baha Men's hilarious 'Who Lets The Dogs Out' which made for a good ring tone, and Pet Shop Boys' winning 'Go West'. A rare favorite is Monty Python's 'Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life'. DOP : 9th August 2007.

FOOTBALL FOREVER : 17 OF YOUR FAVOURITE FOOTBALL INSPIRED SONGS : Like a continuation of the above this one offered Sean Kingston's 'Beautiful Girls', Ricky Martin's The Cup Of Life', and R.Kelly's 'I Believe I Can Fly. There's even a remixed Elvis Presley song here, 'A Little Less Conversation'. by Elvis Vs JXL. As usually always the case, not as good as the first one. DOP : 3rd March 2010.

ALL TIME TOP 100 TV THEMES : ALL ORIGINAL CLASSIC RECORDINGS! : This one will garantee to bring back the kids in you. All the TV shows while I was growing up. Who doesn't remember 'L.A. Law', 'The A-Team', 'Cheers', 'Dallas' and 'Dynasty'. Heck there are a hundred titles here. I show you the titles on the CD. One complain though, there were all strictly from the TV show as advertised meaning they were as short as they were while showing on TV. It just leaves you frustrated and wanting more. DOP : 13th July 2008.
