CDS DESIGN TO BRING OUT THE CHILD IN YOU

Sometimes there are artists who carter for the children or the child in us. A lot of artists have songs that appeal to children. The Beatles too have many songs that recalls to the child in us.

THE ROLF HARRIS COLLECTION : Rolf Harris is a real entertainer in every sense of the word. I remember seeing him on television. He sings, he acts, he jokes and most of all he paints from scratch. This CD which I got someone to buy for me from Australia is a real rare CD. You'll find Rolf Harris in many moods. For the children there's his unofficial Australia anthem 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport', the hilarious 'I've Lost My Mummy', the character which he played in his TV series ' Jack The Peg' which could just killed you with laughter. On the serious side, he have ' Two Little Boys' and the touching 'Hurry Home'. Only song missing criminally is the oh so beautiful 'English Country Garden'. Somehow the exclusion of this fine song rendered this CD not so essential for me. Look up this song from the net. I promise it's worth your while. DOP : 31st Marach 2003.

RAY STEVENS CHRISTMAS : THROUGH A DIFFERENT WINDOW : Ray Stevens is another singer who speclises in novelty songs. His songs like 'Bridget The Midget' , 'The Streak' were bit hits in their days. He, did however managed to produced a big serious smash in 'Everything Is Beautiful'. This Christmas album is unlike any other Christmas you can find in the market. Titles like 'Guilt For Christmas', 'I Won't Be Home For Christmas', and 'Nightmare Before Christmas' will ensure that this is a Christmas CD with a different. My favorite is hilarious 'The Little Drummer Boy Next Door'. Word of advice : Don't listen to this with a full stomach, you may just throw up with laughter. This was a CD I got on discount. DOP : 9th May 2005.

HAVE YOURSELF A LOONEY TUNES CHRISTMAS : Well, like what the titles suggested, this is a Christmas CD with songs, some new and some traditional being sung by your favorites cartoon characters. Given the cartoons format and contents, I was expecting some mindless fun with this CD. Unfortunately I couldn't detect any element of fun at all here. Incredibly it's pretty boring. Thankfully I got this on discount or else I'll be pulling my hair in exasperation. DOP : 5th June 2011.

CHRISTMAS AT HOME : Now this is more like it. At least you got the Christmas spirit here with this CD. Donald Duck, Goofy and the rest of the gang at Disney sharing vocals on such Christmas classics like  ' Deck The Hall', 'White Christmas' and the ever reliable 'The Twelve  Days Of Christmas'. It would have been swell had it all be Donald and the gangs but unfortunately, probably due to the non professionalism of the people involved in the making of this CD, Donald and his friends only sang until the 5th tracks. After that it's all children's vocal till the end. A rip off I would say but I'll settle for the first five tracks. DOP : 15th Novembere 2012.
