DONNY OSMOND : THE TWELFTH OF NEVER : Donny Osmond and the Osmond Brothers got their break on The Andy William Show. From his first hit 'Sweet And Innocent', 'Go Away Little Girl' to his biggest hits 'Puppy Love' and 'The Twelfth Of Never'. They are all covers. His brothers however provided him with some original album tracks that are quite good. I have a few Donny Osmond albums and one of my favorite song on the album 'Alone Together' 'Do You Want Me ?", composed by his brothers is unfortunately not here. DOP : 18th August 1996.THE VERY BEST OF THE OSMONDS : This is a collective efforts from The Osmonds with hits from Donny, Mary, Jimmy and Donny and Marie as a duo. I don't quite like The Osmonds' tracks like ' Crazy Horses', The Proud One', and 'Having A Party' 'cos there were too noisy for me. I like their 'Love Me For A Reason' though. Overall, I much prefer the slower Donny Osmond's tracks. Marie Osmond's 'Paper Roses' is still a joy to listen to after all these years. And there's the beautiful 'Morning Side Of The Morning'. Yeah, it may not be cool to acknowledged it but I like Donny Osmond and his sister and their songs. DOP : 10th April 1996.
THE BEST OF DAVID SOUL : It's always been an unspoken rule that it's easier for a singer to be an actor than for an actor to be a singer. For brief while, David Soul better known to TV audience throughout the world as one half of Starsky And Hutch in the TV detective series, it was easier than falling off a speeding car. Initially he started out as a folk singer, and after having tasted success, he ventured back into the music scene and scored big with 'Don't Give Up On Us'. Two other songs here matter to me. 'Silver Lady' and the charming 'Going In With My Eyes Open'. The rest of the albums well......I don't really know 'cos I don't play them at all. DOP : 17th September 1994.
