THE VERY BEST OF ROD STEWART : My very first Rod Stewart CD. This was given to me by a colleague One look at the titles and you'll be on a high. Opened with 'Maggie May', we moved on to 'You Wear It Well', and the discofied 'Do You Think I'm Sexy ?". A word of caution though, one of Rod Stewart's all time great, 'I Was Only Joking' was an edited version which left a bad taste in my mouth. I preferred my songs in full not in edited form. Then that's the classics 'I Don't Want To Talk About It', 'The First Cut Is The Deepest' and 'Sailing'. Incredibly, I did not like 'Sailing' when I first heard it. It grew on me eventually and it's now one of my favorite. If not for the edited version of 'I Was Only Joking', this would do just great but being as it is.......A GIFT : 19th March 1994 given by Miss. Sandy
THE VERY BEST OF ROD STEWART : Don't be fooled by the title. This is not Rod Stewart's greatest hits but in fact a collection of his early hits or rather tracks. 'Maggie May' is there along with 'Mandolin Wind', 'Cut Across Shorty', and 'Find A Reason To Believe'. Rod Stewart at his initial state before he became a megastar. DOP : 1st January 2012.
ATLANTIC CROSSING : I bought this partly for sentimental reasons and partly because I loved it. A long, long time ago, a cousin of mine have this record and he played it for me. There's a slow side and a fast side. The fast tracks are good but the softer tracks are better. This was the record where 'I Don't Want To Talk About It' and 'Sailing ' make their first showing. My personal favorites are 'It's Not The Spotlight' and 'Still Love You'. This is a double CD with the same but alternate tracks on the other CD with additional tracks. There's a version of The Bee Gees' 'To Love Somebody'. DOP : 9th October 2011
FOOTLOOSE & FANCY FREE : I've been searching for a while before I managed to find this CD and it was well worth it. There's not a bad tracks here. Starting with the rocking 'Hot Legs' to the final songs 'I Was Only Joking' in his whole glory without cut, we are treated to such gems as 'You're In My Heart ( The Final Acclaim)', 'You Keep Me Hanging On', and '( If Loving You Is Wrong ) I Don't Want To Be Right'. And oops, I almost forgot, 'You Got A Nerve' is also from here.
DOP : 16th October 2011.

BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN : The disco album. Actually to be precise, the only thing disco from this album is the hit song 'Do You Think I Am Sexy'. The rest of the tracks are more rock than disco. Compared to the last three albums, this CD is slightly weaker in materials. My favorites are 'Is That The Thanks I Get', and the semi biography ' Scarred And Scared' which Rod is so good at. DOP : 21st September 2011.
UNPLUGGED...AND SEATED : The last Rod Stewart's CD that I've bought at full price. This is yet another double CD one being a music CD and the other a DVD capturing Rod Stewart at his spontaneous best. Here, he went back to his roots performing with his former Faces colleague, Ronnie Wood, who was now one of The Rolling Stones, in an acoustic set. Frankly. I would rather he performed his more famous hits. Don't understand how he could have left out 'Sailing'. Still his version of 'Have I Told You Lately ' almost compensate for all that was missing here. DOP : 16th December 2011.

ORIGINAL ALBUM SERIES : FOOLISH BEHAVIOUR : TONIGHT I'M YOURS : CAMOUFLAGE : EVERY BEAT OF MY HEART : VAGABOND HEART : This was the series that set me off on my Rod Stewart buying spur. Five CD for the price of two. It was like dangling a carrot in front of a rabbit. How could I not take the bait. "Foolish Behavior" was an album that I first encounter way when I just started working in KL and it holds special memories for me. I like the title track 'Foolish Behavior', and the single 'Passion' and 'Oh God, I Wish I Was Home Tonight'. I remember singing this song over and over again when I have to do overtime till the night time. " Tonight I'm Yours" contained his version of Bob Dylan's 'Just Like A Woman' and 'Young Turks' which was good old fashioned rock 'n' roll. "Camouflage" produced 'Infatuation' and 'Some Guys Have All The Luck'. "Every Beat Of My Heart" have the title track as the single and 'Love Touch' the theme from the movie "Legal Eagles". It also have his version of The Beatles' beautiful 'In My Life', but Rod's version doesn't hold a candle to The Fab Fours. The final CD, "Vagabond Heart" have "Rhythm Of My Heart' and a duet with Tina Turner 'It Takes Two. It also have the studio version of 'Have I Told You Lately' which of course became a smash hit when Rod sang it live on his "Unplugged ...and seated" CD. Well, RM 55.00 for five CD, I'll say this is real value for money even thought I may not like all the songs. DOP : 29th July 2011
THE TRIPLE ALBUM COLLECTION : OUT OF ORDER : A SPANNER IN THE WORKS : IF WE FALL IN LOVE : "Out Of Order" produced 'Forever Young' , a slight reminder of the old Rod that we've know and loved. The rest of the album are pretty much run of the mill stuffs and nothing memorable here. "A Spanner In The Works" doesn't flare much better. I would say Rod Stewart have lost his way with this. I would never have bought these CD if it was not on discount. Of the three CD featured here, "If We Fall In Love Tonight" is the only CD that I have ever considered buying. This CD is made up of new recordings and old hits. For me at least, the pick of the crop was his new version of his old classic 'I Don't Want To Talk About It'. His new interpretation of this song is flawless. There's also the song from the movie "The Three Musketeers " , 'All For One' which he share vocal duties with Sting and Bryan Adams. But I absolutely hate his version of 'When I Need You'. This song belongs to Leo Sayer and nobody not even Rod Stewart can change that. He spoiled the song actually. DOP : 21st October 2012.
ALL FOR ONE : THE THREE MUSKETEERS : I loved this song and I loved the movie as well. Each of the featured singers had one solo songs. Bryan Adam have a live version of 'Straight From The Heart', while Sting have 'Love Is Stronger Than Justice ( The Munificent Seven)' and Rod Stewart have 'If Only" a beautiful song. All In all, a pretty worthwhile CD. DOP : 24th April 1994.
HAVE I TOLD YOU LATELY : I just loved this song. I was so in love with this song that I bought this in haste and only realized later that it was the studio version and not the hit live version from his 'Unplugged...and Seated" CD. Nevertheless, a great song but I was really looking for the hit live version. The two other tracks from here are ''Love Wars' and 'One Night'. DOP : 26th March 1994.
WHEN WE WERE THE NEW BOYS : Bought this one on discount. This have have his version of his old band The Faces' Ooh La La' and it's quite infectious. Other than this, this one is more for the shelf than for the CD player. DOP : 26th October 2011.
HUMAN : Rod Stewart turn modern. He even had a duet with some chick or was it a band called Helicopter Girl on a track called 'Don't Come Around Here' and it's quite a pleasant tune and it kinda grew on me when I was playing this in my car. The rest of the tracks well.....let's just say he made a wise career move when he went back to the old American Songbook for his inspirations. DOP : 18th October 2011.

SOULBOOK : Rod Stewart trying his hand or rather vocal from the Motown songbook. His versions of 'It's The Same Old Song', duet with Stevie Wonder's 'My Cherie Amour', Mary J.Blige on 'You Make Me Feel Brand New', and Smokey Robinson 's 'Tracks Of My Tears' does bring a certain charm to the songs but does not displace the originals. Elsewhere there's 'You're Really Got A Hold On Me', 'Wonderful World', If You Don't Know Me By Now' and 'Just My Imagination '. Seems like the old rocker is selling out. DOP : 22nd May 2012.,
MERRY CHRISTMAS, BABY : Well, It's bound to happen. After 7 cover albums, 5 for The Great American Songbook alone, a rock 'n' roll and a soul albums each, I sure am missing the old Rod Steward. This Christmas Album made his cover albums run to a whopping 8. What's happening Rod ?. I fear he is losing his edge. I bought this 'cos it was selling lower than the usual price.Being sold at budget price, there's no credits on the songs. There's the usual traditional Christmas songs like 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas', 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town', 'Let It Snow' Let It Snow' Let It Snow'. Nothing earth shattering. I'm glad I got this on discount. DOP : 3rd December 2012.
Well, that's all the Rod Stewart's CD that I have for now. I will be adding more provided I can get them cheap. I am eyeing his first two CD and "Smiler" which contains a track specially written for him by Paul McCartney.Yeah, there's still more room in my shelf for Rod Stewart .
