Most of their songs were written by Jeff Barry and Andy Kim who in 1974 enjoyed brief success with his song 'Rock Me Gently'. My favorites here are 'Feeling So Good', 'Waldo P Emeson Jones, 'Bang Shang-A-Lang and 'This Love'. Bubblegum Music never sounded so good. DOP : 4th September 1994.
MIDDLE OF THE ROAD : THE COLLECTION : Middle Of The Road were a Scottish group who hit it big in the early seventies with three of their hit songs 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep, Cheep', Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum' and Soley Soley'. Who could forget the ultra commercial 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep'. Before I got their record, all I know of Middle Of The Road were the above three songs. Since then I've discoverd and loved 'Sacramento ( A Wonderful Town )', Samson And Delilah and The Talk Of All The U.S.A'. a rare vocal by a male vocalist. There's also the beautiful 'Love Sweet Love'. At one time during the year 1974, they were joined by early Bay City Rollers member, Neil Henderson, who played the guitar and wrote the occasional songs for them. DOP : 3rd November 2000.
BAY CITY ROLLER. THE COLLECTION : The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish group who were hugely popular in the 1970's. There were one of many groups who were heralded as " the biggest groups since The Beatles". I bought this just so that I have one of their CD in my collection. However, there are a few songs here that I quite like. The old Dusty Springfield remake 'I Only Want To Be With You', 'Give A Little Love', ' Saturday Night' and surprisingly a tender ballad from them. 'The Way I Feel Tonight', which you can still hear occasionally from the radio. DOP : Unknown.
